Wingspan Studio & School is found in Burlington Vermont’s South End Arts & Industry District. Our address: 4A Howard Street, at corner of Pine and Howard.

Within Burlington’s South End lies a couple “zones” and one of those is the historic Enterprise Zone, filled with buildings that long ago were factories and warehouses. Wingspan is in an old bristle brush factory, still owned by the Unsworth Family. We have been here for 22 years and have seen the gritty industrial neighborhood evolve into an artsy, hipster locale with something for everyone: breweries, the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays, cafes, delicious eateries, continuing entrepreneurial artists, small creative businesses, some larger businesses and funky shops! To learn more about the area check out SEABA - The South End Arts & Business Association.

If interested in the historical relevance and recent efforts to preserve the Enterprise Zone, click here to read about the grass-roots work of community stakeholders in preserving the Enterprise Zone, (which comprises only 4% of the city and 1/4 of the South End). Wingspan owner Maggie Standley was an active member of the South End Alliance along with many other small business owners and concerned citizens who triumphed in keeping the small Enterprise Zone, well enterprising and creative.

Wingspan Studio & School sits on the 3rd floor with a birds eye view. The building is an explorer’s dream for unexpected found object treasures, art and more.
